Brock Faulkner (b. 1977 Seattle, Washington) captures the elegance of modern architecture. He often uses complex angles, closeup perspectives, and black and white to highlight the building designs. His work spans cities from around the world and are part of his travel series.

Brock Faulkners is a black-and-white urban photographer based in Seattle, Washington. His work captures the stark beauty and quiet tension of city life through a monochromatic lens. Brock’s photographs explore the interplay of shadow, structure, and solitude in urban environments. He is deeply inspired by the architectural contrasts and atmospheric moods of Seattle’s changing skyline. His compositions often feature empty streets, industrial textures, and fleeting human gestures. Brock uses black-and-white photography to strip away distraction and focus on form, emotion, and rhythm. He began his practice as a teenager, experimenting with film in the alleyways and rooftops of his neighborhood. Over time, his style evolved into a minimalist yet emotionally resonant approach to urban storytelling. Brock’s series “Grey Pulse” documents the shifting identity of Seattle’s downtown core. Another project, “Echo Grid,” examines the geometry of public infrastructure and its relationship to movement and memory. His work has been exhibited in local galleries and featured in regional art publications. Brock is also active in Seattle’s creative community, collaborating with writers, musicians, and digital artists. He believes photography is a tool for reflection and resistance in rapidly transforming cities.

Brock’s images often evoke a sense of stillness amidst chaos, inviting viewers to pause and observe. He is currently working on a long-term project that explores the psychological impact of urban density. In addition to his artistic practice, Brock teaches workshops on visual composition and analog photography. He is a frequent speaker at local art events and photography panels. Brock’s work is influenced by both classical street photography and contemporary urban theory. Through his lens, he seeks to document not just the city’s surface, but its soul. His photographs are a meditation on space, silence, and the stories we leave behind.

Brock Faulkner’s work has been exhibited at the Portland Art Museum and LACMA. He is in collections including LACMA and The Detroit Institute of Arts. He graduated with his BFA from the School of Visual Arts and his MFA from Pratt Institutes. He lives in Seattle, Washington.
